Sele Set'18 Writing 1

The way a person looks doesn’t define the way that it is, I think that everyone knows that, but we live in a society that is based on the physical appearance. We live constantly surrounded by advertising, social media and prejudices that remind us that if we want to be accepted by the world we have to follow its standards, if not we are out.

Firstly, even though we all know that is not correct, every time we meet a new person, we try to imagine what their life is like just by basing our opinion on the way that he or she looks like. It’s a society problem because we have been taugh that bad people always look  like monsters and the pretty ones are always the heroes of the story.

Secondly, I think that the way a person looks might not influence the character, what takes part in the character is your own love. A person that loves herself without caring about others opinions, is going to be happy and confident with it. But physical appearance obviously influences self love because a guy that feels that the way that he looks like is not accepted, is not going to be confident with himself.

In conclusion, I think that society has to start changing from the bottom, to build a new world where everyone could have the same opportunities without considering the outside look.
